Stop using Surveillance

Entry 228 for Friday November 27, 2020

The core questions:

Credit goes to Ben and readers of his blog for these “Four Questions” and the five stretch questions.

  1. What did you do today? #F1007B class; battling with Respondus; #educoffee with Jakob and Miguel; final message of the semester by Juan Pablo Murra; #F1007B  late office hour.
  2. What did you enjoy? A really nice coffee with Jakob and Miguel
  3. What did you find difficult? Fighting with Respondus lock-down browser while helping my son with his exam; Respondus crashed but then software reboot is blocked. Only those (like me) that know how to do a full “hard reset” of the computer can get back to a clean state to restart the exam. Teachers should really stop using this surveillance software and use better methods of evaluation.
  4. What has changed? End of week 16 of the semester. #Tec20 classes are finished, #Tec21 classes have one more week.
