TEC Awards

Entry 177 for Wednesday October 7 2020

The core questions:

Credit goes to Ben and readers of his blog for these “Four Questions” and the five stretch questions.

  1. What did you do today? Reviewing assignments, preparing classes; Tec Awards RZO ceremony; #educoffee with Miguel; setup Miguel’s website; meeting for #F1006B RZO team; meeting with #TC1028 student Paul; keynote for UPANA Guatemala, slides are here.
  2. What did you enjoy? A really nice day with a surprise award “TEC Awards” for the RZO School of Engineering and Science(EIC). There were seven recipients, three of us were professors (Rita, Jonathan and I), the others were Martha, Mónica, Alejandra, and Omar. All well deserved. My recognition was for aiding professors of the EIC locally and nationally (as well as internationally) with implementing their shift to online classes via conferences and workshops.  I also gave a very nice talk to UPANA in Guatemala remotely for about 350 attendees on Facebook live.
  3. What did you find difficult? I was drained this day and was flustered trying to help Paul with some Python code. I went into the keynote low on energy and nervous which probably came across at the beginning of the video.
  4. What has changed? It was really nice to be recognized.
