Two out of Three Ain’t Bad

Entry 091 for Monday July 13, 2020

The core questions:

Credit goes to Ben and readers of his blog for these “Four Questions” and the five stretch questions.

  1. What did you do today? Helped my family pack the car to leave for the beach; met (via Zoom) with Leo to talk about #flipclass and I managed to say “no” to giving a workshop for a school in Morelia; attended #FlipTech2020 sessions and moderated sessions for Mónica and Derly; I was late for my #TC1028 weekly meeting (sorry Ma. Luisa); #TC1028 class which was good and being sure students were prepared for the Tuesday exam; ran the “live” recorded “Town Hall” session for Errol of FLGI via a YouTube live feed with comments there and on Twitter with #flipclasschat; dealt with a disk space issue on an aging server; our dog Bailey was sad despite a couple of walks and doing my best to check on her often during the day; I tried twice to record my #TechEduTips late in the afternoon but failed twice to have audio; once due to the Yeti mute button being on, the second time due to the volume on the microphone being dialed down in OBS Studio. Will do that in the morning on Tuesday. See the title of the post. Adding that I totally failed at part of my moderation task for Derly’s #FlipTech2020 session and did not record it. Sorry my friend.
  2. What did you enjoy? The sessions for #FlipTech2020 went very well as did the “town hall” event which we included as part of our conference activities.
  3. What did you find difficult? I really wasn’t a fan of this “live recorded” thing. I so much prefer to just release content and not hold it back. I played along with the plan as an experiment to see how that goes but it really does go against my philosophy of being open and transparent with my work.
  4. What has changed? Just myself and Bailey this week at home. The bird (Larry) and the fish are here too but I will be here myself all this week.
