“These go to eleven”

Entry 011 for Friday April 24th, 2020

The core questions:

Credit goes to Ben and readers of his blog for these “Four Questions” and the five stretch questions.

  1. What did you do today? Two office hour meetings with current students (Karla and Alex), two meetings with students of the past (Julia asking teaching advice and Carlos asking for post-degree graduate school advice), two wonderful #educoffee sessions, the weekly Friday update from David Garza (and others) about our status at the Tecnológico de Monterrey, quick prep of dinner and an excellent first session of our #TI4022 class. A big thank you the lead industry-expert instructor Roberto Martinez for his work on the course. I am looking forward to this trimester in the Cybersecurity masters degree program.
  2. What did you enjoy? The coffee sessions were wonderful. The morning session (Donna, Lawrie and Julia joining at the end) led into childhood discussions which led to my dad being in the Royal Canadian Navy which led to a possible connection to Lawrie and his days in the Royal Navy. Small world. The afternoon session (I quickly switch to Google Meet to accommodate) with Mo was inspiring and deep.
  3. What did you find difficult? Exhausted, it was a very long day. I didn’t get to bed until after midnight as our class from 6pm-10pm.
  4. What has changed? I haven’t touched the guitar for a few days, I need to get back to that.
