I Miss People Watching

Entry 241 for Thursday December 10, 2020

The core questions:

Credit goes to Ben and readers of his blog for these “Four Questions” and the five stretch questions.

  1. What did you do today? Walk with Bailey at 7am; campus gathering (via Zoom) for the close of the year and celebrating award winners; #educoffee with Miguel; OLC Innovate Steering committee meeting; dentist appointment.
  2. What did you enjoy? It was really nice to see faces that I haven’t seen (in person or on-screen) since March.
  3. What did you find difficult? Seeing those smiling faces and sending back-channel messages back and forth has me feeling how much we miss the random encounters. Everything is planned or scheduled and something I love about México compared to Canada is the spontaneity of random encounters with friends.
  4. What has changed? Right there. Everything is planned and calculated. Despite not knowing what the future brings, the present is missing the surprise encounters.
