Give Blood

Entry 175 for Monday October 5, 2020

The core questions:

Credit goes to Ben and readers of his blog for these “Four Questions” and the five stretch questions.

  1. What did you do today? #TC1028 group 91 class; #educoffee with Miguel; course planning; went to donate blood for the sister of a friend; dinner with Aure at Lupés Ribs.
  2. What did you enjoy? Giving blood is something small that i can do to help others. Donations are different here in México. People who need surgery or a procedure need to procure donations in their name whether at a private hospital or the public hospitals. I don’t have a count of blood donations, but I am pretty sure it is well over 25 in the image used for this post.
  3. What did you find difficult? I do enjoy doing my part but I really wish there was a proper centralized blood bank here in México. I have donated a few times with the public hospital and it is a full day affair that starts by arriving to stand in line about 5am. If you don’t get a ticket early, you can’t donate that day.
  4. What has changed? It was nice to get out of the house for a few hours and then get a treat eating ribs on the way home.
