Cooking and Laundry

Entry 288 for Tuesday January 26, 2021

The core questions:

Credit goes to Ben and readers of his blog for these “Four Questions” and the five stretch questions.

  1. What did you do today? Up at 7am; busy day keeping the boys engaged with their classes; washed four loads of laundry; shopped for dinner; made a chicken soup for our neighbour who tested positive for #covid19; prepared dinner for the boys; slight drama about not arriving home for dinner on time for one of them; late to bed after watching the #Oilers lose to the #Jets.
  2. What did you enjoy? The meal turned out well: roast pork loin with scalloped potatoes, steamed vegetables (frozen), and gravy.  The boys appreciated and enjoyed it. Alejandra was out and missed the meal.
  3. What did you find difficult? Keeping a level head and discussing about care, empathy, and consideration with a teenager.
  4. What has changed? Today was the first full day taking care of the house and the four youth by myself this week. We did okay.

Today’s Reading/Listening

Hockey and mostly hockey. Listened to a really nice episode of Teaching in Higher Ed, #345 “Transforming a University“.
