Entry 127 for Tuesday August 18, 2020

The core questions:

Credit goes to Ben and readers of his blog for these “Four Questions” and the five stretch questions.

  1. What did you do today? Recorded and released a #LinuxTips video about how to deal with upgrade conflicts in Manjaro; left the house to get some paperwork done for my retirement savings plan (AFORE); #TC1028 class; no #educoffee takers today; messed up my Manjaro trying to get NVENC working so did a quick reinstall of Manjaro; #TC3045 class.
  2. What did you enjoy? A really nice day of classes with both #TC1028 (yesterday’s group as well actually) and #TC3045. I aimed to emphasize communication and getting students active networking and it seems to be taking hold.
  3. What did you find difficult? Borking my Linux install. In the end I have myself well covered for a quick installation and never lose data (well not since 2005) so it wasn’t a big deal. About 45 minutes total to get back to running fine.
  4. What has changed? Mentioned in #2, really putting a push to improve communication and trust while looking at a full semester of teaching from my home office.
