Wrap It Up
Entry 094 for Thursday July 16, 2020
The core questions:
Credit goes to Ben and readers of his blog for these “Four Questions” and the five stretch questions.
- What did you do today? Recorded and released a #LinuxTips video on using OBS Studio to create a virtual webcam; #FlipTech2020 Q&A session for beginners; a short #TC1028 session; moderators Jon Thomas-Palmer’s #FlipTech2020 session on Asynchronous Flipped Gameful Mastery Learning; ran our #FlipTech2020 wrap-up session which I ran with the panel in Zoom but live-streamed to YouTube.
- What did you enjoy? This #FlipTech2020 conference in many ways felt like past FlipCon conferences. You could meet new people at the start of the event that you kept running into during sessions. It also had that feeling of hanging out with friends that you often only see once per year in events like this. I do believe the single track format really helped.
- What did you find difficult? I am looking forward to letting go of my chair of the board role of the FLN but it seems a little difficult to let go of that after four years. This is not official but it is imminent.
- What has changed? This is probably my last major event for my time as the FLN chair. I plan to stay on with the committee and work on projects instead of the leadership role which I really don’t think suited me well. I took the role basically since nobody else wanted to take it four years ago.
