Entry 052 for Thursday June 4, 2020

The core questions:

Credit goes to Ben and readers of his blog for these “Four Questions” and the five stretch questions.

  1. What did you do today? Student meetings with Pablo, Pablo, Joseph (all #TC1033), Rodrigo (#Semana18), Antonio and team (#TC1030), Oliver and Javier (#TI2011); meeting with Rosa and Tere about the #TC1030 redesign (I am working on the bibliography); Guadalajara campus general meeting; #educoffee with Omar, Mahdi and Miguel; meeting with Gerardo to have him demo his use of a Wacom tablet for teaching.
  2. What did you enjoy? The coffee with Omar, Mahdi and Miguel was great. Omar was my student back around the turn of the century and we stay in touch over Facebook but this was the first time talking with him for a long time. Mahdi and Miguel are regulars and I really enjoy our coffee meetings.
  3. What did you find difficult? Juggling many meetings with almost no gaps. I *love* my meetings with students, it just can be tiring with so many. This is a result of end of semester rush.
  4. What has changed? My workstation is still holding up well (here is the current build as of this time at PcPartPicker). I would like to do a build based around an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X and most likely an x570 motherboard. This is not a gaming machine but more for video production and development with some gaming. That core and thread count would really speed up rendering of videos out of OpenShot.
