Santiago de Chile

Entry 431 for Friday June 18, 2021

The core questions:

Credit goes to Ben and readers of his blog for these “Four Questions” and the five stretch questions.

  1. What did you do today? Invited talk for the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Chile to talk about what I’ve learned and can share about teaching online (slides here); chat with mom and dad over Google Meet; watched game 3 of Montreal vs Vegas; meeting with MCY student Viri about her masters project; a mandatory fun night in Elder Scrolls online with Alea Iacta Est (AIE); officer meeting for AIE.
  2. What did you enjoy? I resisted giving more talks about teaching online this year after doing so many in 202. This one went well and I was glad that I did this. It gave me another chance to reflect on my praxis.
  3. What did you find difficult? Keeping my energy level high enough to get work done while taking periodic breaks to rest.
  4. What has changed? Following on #3, perhaps this longer day but with many breaks is a useful mode of work.
